Dating or marrying a lawyer when you are also a lawyer is potentially a match made in hell, or quite possibly a fate worse than death.Most lawyers love to argue and snip at one another on litigation strategies, grammatical errors, causes of divorce and who is right and who is wrong.However, if you were a jerk before, law school will certainly bring out more of the same.As with any career field, there are all types of people that are attracted to the profession for all sorts of reasons. As mentioned above, lawyer personalities can be about as subtle as a gunshot, so if you’re catching an off-putting vibe from your date, it’s not simply because they’re a lawyer, it’s just who they are. All the players know their roles and expectations are clear.I started realizing the disaster of this lawyer to lawyer relationship.I guess because we were both young lawyers, we could each understand all the missed dates and both of us could appreciate how demanding this profession is.Of course, we both wanted a “normal” relationship, but I think we both knew it was not going to be possible.Between the missed dates and the numerous petty arguments, any fool could see that two lawyers dating each other was just not going to work out.
